During previous Higher Ground Journeys, travelers visited a variety of key civil rights destinations in the Montgomery/Selma area including The Memorial for Peace and Justice, The Legacy Museum, The Rosa Parks Museum, The National Voting Rights Museum and Institute, The Freedom Riders Museum, and the Edmund Pettus Bridge.

Special guests such as historian Tim Tyson and North Carolina Poet Laureate Jaki Shelton Green have joined us on previous trips, providing the opportunity for learning, deep conversations, and individual reflection. A performance by Mike Wiley is also scheduled during the trip.
